Technical Product Description

General

MiruSuite is a modular software suite for automated video and audio production.
The software receives video and audio streams via webcam, NDI® or MJPEG and analyzes them in real time. AI-powered components such as audio and presentation analysis detect speech, music, applause, laughter, as well as slide changes and animations. This information controls automatic switching. A person tracker finds and follows people in the image and serves as the basis for AutoTracking. All algorithms and AI models run locally on your own device; no video or audio data is transmitted to the internet.

A MiruSuite license entitles you to use the software on a specific designated computer. After activation, the software is bound to the computer in use. It is possible to transfer the license (e.g., in case of loss, damage or replacement with a more powerful device). Please contact support@mirusuite.de for this.

Features

Video and audio input - MiruSuite can manage multiple devices such as PTZ cameras, microphones and presentation feeds simultaneously. Video sources are connected via webcam input, NDI® or MJPEG; audio sources can be connected via WMME, DirectSound, ASIO, WASAPI (Windows) or CoreAudio or JACK (macOS). The platform automatically detects available sources and supports a wide range of PTZ cameras from various manufacturers (see PTZ control).

AutoTracking - The Head-Tracking Director uses image recognition and AI models to find and recognize people in the image and tracks the selected target person via automated camera movements. Control commands are sent to the connected PTZ camera. Settings for framing, sensitivity and positioning (rule of thirds or a custom target point) allow the behavior to be adapted. Depending on the product tier, AutoTracking can be run independently on multiple cameras. With a large number of simultaneously tracked cameras, tracking quality may decrease.

PTZ control - MiruSuite controls compatible PTZ cameras over the network. For most current PTZ cameras from Panasonic, Canon, Sony, BirdDog, Marshall and Telycam, controller modules are available that send pan, tilt and zoom commands and record the current camera position.

Basic auth protection - MiruSuite’s web interface can be secured with a username and password. The credentials are configured in the system settings. Afterwards, the user interface requires the access data to prevent unauthorized access.

Game controller support - Using the browser-based Gamepad API, PTZ cameras can be controlled with common Xbox or PlayStation controllers. After connecting in the browser, the controller is selected in the settings; sticks and buttons control pan, tilt, zoom and switching between devices.

Projects- Projects store all devices, components, presets and switcher mappings in a local database. Changes are saved automatically. It is easy to switch between projects.

Presets - Presets store camera positions and component settings and can be organized by tags and the cameras used. They are required, among other things, for using AutoCut and the Lecture Director.

Lecture mode - The Lecture Director enables fully autonomous person tracking in lectures. It combines dynamic presenter tracking with static blackboard or stage shots and offers settings for sensitivity and image composition. MiruSuite automatically detects when writing occurs on the board and shows it accordingly. This results in calm, easy-to-follow recordings of teaching sessions.

Audio analysis - Audio sources are connected via various drivers. The Audio Analyzer classifies the signal as silence, speech, laughter, applause and music. This information feeds into automatic switching and makes it possible, for example, to react to audience responses.

Presentation analysis - The Presentation Analyzer detects slide changes and animations in the presentation feed and is used by AutoCut to determine how “interesting” a slide is.

Switcher control& live preset prevention - MiruSuite connects to switchers from Blackmagic ATEM, Ross or vMix (software switcher). MiruSuite reads and controls which devices are currently visible in the live program. This bidirectional connection is used to switch automatically and prevent PTZ camera moves for a live camera.

AutoCut - AutoCut is an intelligent real-time switching system that analyzes multiple video and audio streams and automatically switches between different perspectives based on audio analysis, presentation events and person recognition. It is suitable for talks, panel discussions and town hall events and offers different switching styles for faster or slower results.

This is not a replacement for a video mixer. MiruSuite integrates into the existing setup and controls an external video mixer.

Two scenarios are distinguished:

· Single-speaker mode: At most one person is on stage (e.g. talks and lectures). AutoCut can switch between a speaker shot (optionally with tracking), a wide shot, the presentation slides, a picture-in-picture view or an audience perspective. All perspectives are optional.

· Multi-speaker mode: Multiple people are on stage (e.g. panel discussions or town hall formats). In this case, it is necessary that they remain at roughly the same position and that each person has exactly one microphone. Each microphone must be integrated as a separate channel in MiruSuite. MiruSuite can switch between all of the perspectives mentioned above and additionally coordinate PTZ cameras correctly between the different people in order to always show the person who is speaking.

Live preset prevention - If MiruSuite is connected to a video mixer, presets are only activated when the camera is currently not live. This prevents unwanted sudden camera movements.

Companion plugin& REST API - Via a Companion module and an integration into Bitfocus Companion, MiruSuite can be controlled, among other things, with an Elgato Stream Deck. A wide range of MiruSuite features can be controlled at the press of a button. This includes activating and deactivating tracking, changing settings or automatic switching. In addition, MiruSuite provides a REST interface that allows devices, presets and AutoCut to be integrated programmatically into workflows via HTTP requests.

VerticalAutoFramer - The vMix Framer automatically adjusts the crop of a vMix input to the position of the target person. It is suitable for cropping widescreen sources into vertical formats in order to keep a person in frame even when cropped. There is a wide range of settings for image width, height, responsive/smooth framing and returning to the center when tracking is lost.

Standard support - Email support on business days from 9:00 to 17:00 CET (excluding public holidays in the Free State of Saxony) and a guaranteed response no later than the next business day.

Premium support - In addition to standard support, an extended service is available (exclusively) for the “AutoCut Pro” product variant: email support from 8:00 to 20:00 CET with a targeted response within three hours, as well as phone support from 9:00 to 17:00 CET on business days (excluding public holidays in the Free State of Saxony).

Product variants

The different product variants differ in the available features, the maximum number of devices and the support.

The term “devices” is taken from MiruSuite and refers to a “device” in MiruSuite. A “device” can be a PTZ camera with control and tracking, a video input for AutoCut or an audio channel for AutoCut. A video mixer does not count as a device. The feature “Max. devices” therefore counts the number of “devices” in MiruSuite that are simultaneously present in a project. Further explanations of “devices” can be found in the MiruSuite docs.
